It's a bit of an open secret that in late August I kinda snapped and burnt out with regards to social media, externalized validation, financial validation, doom-scrolling, engagement metrics, all sorts. But I'm doing better now! My IRL situation is still kinda up in the air, but I'm doing better now!

One of the ways in which I've been starting to feel better is not scrolling the timeline as much, haha. Social media as an endless conveyor belt of microblog (think, Twitter) posts can run my spirit dry. Even though there are no shortage of good posts out there! (Yummy OC art... yum-yum...) But, the brevity and lack of friction inherent to microblogging means most posts are reactionary or lack in nutritional value.

So I was curious when Belle said Leaflet.Pub reminded her of me? I guess because of all the blogging I do on my scrappy little website nowadays.

One of my digital struggles lately has been the desire to keep up with everyone, especially in OCsky and comicSky, but not wanting to trudge through the timeline to accomplish that. I have one other idea I'm working on to help make consuming social media posts fun and enjoyable for me. While I set that up, I also want to use Leaflet.Pub to help achieve this.

How?

Well, right now I'm crawling out of burnout one upload-free sketch at a time, and fighting for my life to get new employment and stay in California, but that aside I think Leaflet could be a great place to:

I'm still kinda convinced people like the convenience of platforms more than websites. So, behold! A version of my website blog that you can follow using your BlueSky account. Nifty!

Post Some Art & Media Roundups

(Obvs when burnout is over and I'm not in financial danger anymore but,) I feel like it's easy for posts to get lost in the chronological/trending flow of things. Gone are the days of catching up with where you left off on your Bluesky feeds. I'll post "Here's What You Missed from Me" Roundups here.

I feel like macroblog, or even like, (this feels like) midi-blog(???) media has a WAY longer lifespan than microblog media. Please check back in here from time to time.

You can even subscribe to my Leaflet by RSS feed? Isn't that nifty? I will make you use RSS feeds. You wanna use them so bad. 🌀😵‍💫

And uh, yeah, that's most of what I can come up with for now. I feel like that's all I need, anyway? It's important to only do what you need.
